New Fire Station opens in Ha’apai

A new Fire Station in Pangai, Ha’apai officially opened on 25th October, 2016 by Pangai District Officer, Mr. Langi Tonga’onevai. This building was funded by the National Emergency Management Office and Committee $400,000. The new Fire Station was built to replace the old one was destroyed by TC Ian in January 2014. Fire Star Construction Ltd started this works on 20 May 2016 and completes it on 19 October 2016. This building is 194.58m2 and contains an office, bedroom, kitchen, storeroom, bathroom facilities and a garage for two fire trucks. Pangai Fire Station was started on 2006 and now employs 8 staffs. Fire and Emergency Commissioner, Mr. Lofia Heimuli along with the representative from NEMO Mr. Mafua Maka, Government Officials, District & Town Officers and others attended the opening
